More on Solyndra: Waxman Decries the "Kangaroo Court"

http://idealab.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/10/waxman-calls-house-energy-commerce-solyndra-hearing-a-kangaroo-court.php

It is amazing how Waxman can attack the majority party for leading a diligent hearing on the egregious misuse of taxpayer dollars. He considers the ongoing investigation into federal loan guarantees a "kangaroo court." Congress is supposed to be investigating waste and fraud, yet Waxman turns up his nose at such inquiries.

If there is any better, or more caustic example, of the pot calling the kettle "bully", it would be Waxman upbraiding the serious and prescient hearing into the loan guarantees to green energy companies under the Obama Administration.

The list of failed companies is staggering:

"There have been so many “successes” that it’s hard to keep track of them all: Solyndra, Beacon Power, Abound Solar, Nevada Geothermal Power, Ener1, A123, SunPower, First Solar, Evergreen Solar, Solar Trust for America, Fisker Automotive… every one of them swimming in a thick “success” gravy of bankruptcy and layoffs."

Waxman lashed out at Darrell Issa during one hearing, he dragged athletes and staff before the Government Oversight Committee during his tenure as chairman, yet now he justifies turning around and lambasting the legitimate use of oversight on the Energy Committee to find out why so much money was wasted, and why the Obama Administration's several executive departments were so incompetent with other people's money.

These Energy loans have yielded nothing but failure and fiscal insanity. The poor research and development dumped into companies which boasted strong revenue sources before receiving these loans only accentuates the inherent immorality and lack of necessity of putting down taxpayer dollars to fund experiments in green technology.

In the above link, Chairman Ed Whitfield respectfully submits a serious question: why offer loans to companies who do not need them? The fact that Solyndra possessed a well-funded base yet still request a loan-guarantee was enough to arouse Mr. Whitfield's suspicion.

How many of the disgraced CEOs from Solyndra and other companies have been dragged before the House Oversight committee? Why has Congressman Waxman not raised any alarm over the rampant waste carried about Congress, all in the name of protecting the environment?
